Check out my work
Throughout my career as a filmmaker and storyteller, I have delved into narratives that intertwine social reflection, historical memory, and deeply human perspectives. Each project I have led, whether a film, series, or documentary, aims to shed light on overlooked or ignored aspects of our society, challenging realities and fostering critical dialogue. From themes such as misogyny and gender-based violence to the trauma of war and political tensions, my works strive to connect with the universal emotions and experiences of audiences while highlighting the complexities of Colombian history and culture.
My most recent projects include:

Aphrodites
Feature film
In this mystery and psychological horror film set in 1860, I examine how fanaticism and superstition perpetuate misogyny and gender-based violence in a society rife with prejudice.

We The Fallen
TV fiction series
Through this historical horror series, I portray state repression and student resistance during the 1971 Pan American Games in Cali. The story blends drama and psychological tension to reflect on collective memory and the consequences of social struggles on the national fabric.

Dark Swamp
TV series
Set against the backdrop of the 1928 Banana Massacre, this mystery and political horror series makes me examine social and racial divisions in Latin America, delving into classism, patriarchal violence, and human resilience in the face of horror.

Land of Cain
TV series
In this series, I explore the effects of war-related post-traumatic stress while reflecting on traditional ideals of masculinity, the pursuit of power, and the nation’s collective fears. Through this proximity to war, I emphasize the importance of reconciliation and the need to avoid repeating past mistakes.

Mûpã (Mother)
Feature Documentary
The disappearance of a young girl forced into child marriage becomes the focus of this documentary film. It examines female leadership as a tool to combat injustice and transform realities in vulnerable communities.

Ouutsü (Moongirl)
Feature documentary
Inspired by Wayúu traditions, this documentary highlights how dreams guide a young woman on a journey through the desert. The work reflects on intergenerational spiritual connections and the challenges of preserving tradition in a changing world.

Wakani (Spirit of the Forest)
Feature documentary
This story dives into the struggle of an Indigenous woman to preserve traditional medicine within her territory. The documentary intertwines spirituality with the pursuit of purpose amid cultural and environmental change.

If My Dreams Could Find You
Película Animada
In this film, I address the pain of those who have been forcibly disappeared due to violence. Through the story of a woman searching tirelessly for her loved one, I reflect the anguish of thousands of families still waiting for answers in a country where absence has become part of the landscape.

The Chess Club
Película Documental
In Plaza del Restrepo, a group of elderly people gathers every day to play chess. Between games, they build bonds that help them face loneliness. In this short film I celebrate friendship and reclaim public space as a place of connection and care. It is also my call to the State: Ensuring dignified spaces for the elderly is not a favor — it is a responsibility.

A Story that Never Ends
Feature film
Through this film, I recount the arrival of a group of Canadian missionaries to Colombia in 1937. Confronted with an unfamiliar land and countless hardships, their beliefs, fears, and convictions are tested, revealing the cultural and spiritual clashes of an era marked by faith and resilience.

Sandboy
Feature documentary
This documentary film presents the dilemmas of a young Wayuu man torn between leaving his community in search of a better life or staying in an environment dominated by smuggling. It reflects on identity and displacement in vulnerable settings.

The New Life
Short film
Through this short film, I tell the story of an elderly couple who, faced with the prospect of being alone, decide to pursue assisted death. Before doing so, they return to their hometown to say goodbye, exploring memory, transcendence, and the emotional bonds that define them.
